Description

Start your tour at the Reichstag building and learn about its history; the building which was severely damaged after being set on fire. Here you will see Neo-Renaissance architecture, the building was built between 1884 and 1894 under the architect Paul Wallot. Initially, it was used by the Reichstag at the time when the Nazi party ruled Germany. You will then continue on to the Brandenburg gate, the 18th-century neoclassical monument in Berlin, built on the orders of Prussian king Frederick William II. As we move on, you will visit the public square and traffic intersection situated in the center of the city. Next, you will visit the Checkpoint Charlie, a very historic landmark in Germany. Here, you will see the Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War (1947–1991). As we continue, you will visit the architectural square of the city in the Gendarmenmarkt and also walk by the State Opera. Visit a Neoclassical-style landmark known as the Kronprinzenpalais 'Crown Prince's Palace'. You will also see the Berliner Schloss (the imperial and royal Berlin palace) which is located centrally in the city. The construction of the palace dates back to 1443. Adjacent to this, you will see the Berlin Cathedral as well as the historic memorial site of the Berlin wall. Finally, you will see the Berliner Fernsehturm, (the television tower) and the World Clock at Alexanderplatz which is a large public square in the central Mitte district of Berlin.
