Pubs and Kneipen
If you want an original Berlin bar with an old-school feel, try Destille on the corner of Mehringdamm and Bergmann Str.
Here, the beer is cold, the staff are friendly, and the patrons feel like they belong. At Destille, tradies, artists, footballers, tax advisors and drag queens rub shoulders with VIP guests. Even Quentin Tarantino has been known to drop in. It's a great little bar, the kind to which you will keep coming back weekend after weekend.
Great beer, wine, whisky, and spirits are all on offer at reasonable prices, and you can add in a shot of one of the unique liqueurs that this distillery creates by hand (hence the name of the bar). For a typical Berlin snack, you can head to Curry 36 nearby. In the afternoons, Destille is also open for coffees.
