Arema Café and Restaurant
Berlin
Cafe
Make sure you reserve a table if you are heading to Arema on the weekend, especially if you are in a group, as it can get quite busy. The best place to sit is by the window in the front room, surrounded by the beautiful ornate tile work.
Arema Restaurant and Café is located in the pretty much tourist-free area west of Berlin, Moabit. Sitting inside Arema while sipping on a hot beverage, it's hard not to get carried away looking at all the furnishings. This old butchers shop built in the 1800's has been lovingly restored by the owners, exposing the beautiful original tilework that had been hidden under layers of paint, wallpaper, and grime. The beautiful original features have been accentuated by antique tables and chairs along with bookshelves and a grandfather clock, giving the space a very cosy and pleasant atmosphere.
Whether you are looking for a comfy place to grab a coffee and read a book, or want for a place to meet some friends for dinner, Arema manages to to do both well. This is one of the best cafes in the area and is very popular with the locals. A full menu is available from breakfast to supper, they have a well stocked bar if you're after a drink, and they also have a nice selection of delicious cakes.
Arema even offers a full English breakfast, a rarity in Berlin, so if you are on the hunt for good bacon and eggs served with mushrooms, tomato, and baked beans, you should definitely head on over!
