Lavanderia Vecchia
Berlin
Italian
This restaurant sits in the second courtyard of an old laundry. Not directly on the street, it feels nice to have to cut through the building to get there, and when you do a special treat awaits you.
Lavenderia Vecchia feels like you're in someone's open plan living room, white washed exposed brick walls, open kitchen, clothes lines, shelves stocked with plates. Fitting that the old washing machine still has pride of place on the floor and the guests sit around wooden tables all with a different tablecloth perhaps embroidered by the old village Nonnas.
This menu serves classic Italian country cooking using oils and serving wines directly from the villages of Italy. Here, smell, sight, taste and sound is elevated to help you experience an Italian meal like no other in Berlin. A very affordable lunch menu awaits you without need of reservation but if you wish to dine in the evenings, a reservation is recommended, just so you don't miss out.
