Berlin

Museums

The Museum Europäischer Kulturen is dedicated to collecting, researching, preserving, presenting, and raising awareness of artefacts of European everyday culture and human lived realities from the 18th century until today

The Museum of European Culture mainly focuses on Germany, but there are exhibits hailing from the entire European region. After opening in 1999 the venue made it its goal to collect documents, artefacts and objects relating to the everyday life of European societies from the 18th present day. Now it houses around 275,000 original objects which makes it one of the largest popular art European collections in the world.

The building is in the Berlin Steglitz-Zehlendorf district and is shared wth the Ethnological Muesum of Belrin and the Museum of Asian Art. Public transport connections are good, with underground, U-Bahn and bus stops nearby. Admission is €8 for adults and €4 for children, students and seniors.
