Olympiastadion

Berlin

Historic Sites

Constructed for the 1936 Olympic Games, the stadium was undamaged during World War II. It underwent a major renovation from 2000 to 2004, during which time an unexploded bomb was discovered in beneath a section of seating, and today the Olympiastadion has a capacity of 74,064.

Memorable events include Jesse Owens gold medal in four events in 1936, and the 2006 FIFA World Cup final between France and Italy.

Guided tours are available. Potential visitors are advised to check online as the time and frequency of the tours varies depending on the time of year. Tours are available for €7 per adult, though family tickets are available for €16.
