Opera and Ballet lovers are spoilt for choice when visiting Berlin.  Three main Opera houses present all manner of works from lavish traditional productions to obscure and provocative modern works.

Along with the three world class Opera houses a number of smaller, independent houses produce a number of interesting performances.  From baroque to modern works, with staging varying from the traditional to the provocative, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Berliner Staatsoper im Schiller Theater and the Komische Oper have something for pretty much everybody with performances of Mozart, Verdi, Puccini alongside more modern composers.  The Staatsballet, performing in various theatres around Berlin are a wonderful ensemble with a wide repertoire which includes both modern and traditional works.
